And Now For Something Completely Different…

For those of you who have ever heard of enneagram personality typing, here are my results after taking my first test:

I am a 2 with a 3 wing – the Helper/Hostess (scores 21/16) as my basic personality type.

However, because I had a second strong personality type within 3 points of type 2, I could also be a type 8 with a 7 wing – the Challenger/Maverick (scores 19/17).

I haven’t done a huge amount of research yet, but from what I’ve read, I do believe that 2 is the correct basic type. (You can let me know if you agree or disagree, I’d be grateful to know what you think!)

It’s all very interesting, and I like that it’s more complicated (or rather thorough?) than the Meyers-Briggs tests that I suspect a lot of you have taken.

The thing is, when you’ve been stuck in bed as long as I’ve been lately, there’s a fair amount of introspection that takes place (to relieve boredom, though it soon becomes interesting in and of itself.

The test itself is $10 unfortunately, I wish it was free. There are a couple of freebie tests that are smaller, and probably give reasonable results. In any case, I encourage to you take one of them because I’m now horribly curious as to what they give you, and then to see how they predict my type and your type will get along. I always find that stuff funny.

Just yesterday someone around tossed me a Chinese Astrology book, and I looked at my year (Hare) to see what they thought I’d be like. It was so off I was actually astounded. I mean, usually this type of stuff is generic enough that you can find enough in common with it to overlook the sillier items — but this was just plain rubbish all the way through. 😛
