Vacation, really!!

We already knew last week’s vacation was not going to be as fun as expected due to my activity restrictions, and that we weren’t going to be able to go to the cottage as planned.

Apparently, the mean gods of vacations-from-hell decided that wasn’t punishment enough. On Tuesday, I woke up with some rather annoying left-abdominal pain. I assumed it was gas. At least, I assumed it was gas until it started hurting a lot more, and ceased to be intermittent.

To make a very long story short: after a few doctors, an urgent care center, the ER, and an overnight hospital stay we really don’t know for sure what was wrong. The best guess is round ligament pain. Really severe long-lasting round ligament pain.

The good news is that we got another ultrasound out of it all, with images that actually look like a real baby (who is safe and sound and moving around like a gymnast)! I also got to take an early tour of the OB hospital ward where I’ll be staying after I’ve delivered B. The hospital rooms there are actually quite nice. Of course, having never been admitted to the hospital before, I don’t really have a frame of reference, but it was pretty darn comfortable.

No more pain to report since that day, I’m mostly laying low still just so as not to tempt fate. 😉
