Subject: Bonkskeeper I – Epistle to the Philippians
Yea, rejoice ye in the short version:
I am mostly dealing with sciatic pain in my left backside and leg. Driving and sitting are increasingly painful, so they’re out of the picture. I’ll be working from home the rest of the week, and will be available by all normal means. I still plan on having Thursday’s Integration Schoolhouse (Rocks!) – I’ll call into Jane Adams, and one of you can pretend to be me at the whiteboard. If you have particular topics that you’d like to cover, let me know. Thanks to all who’ve sent their kind wishes, I really appreciate it! Please forgive me if I seem a little spacey, I am, at this point on any number of meds including oxycontin, so just giggle and correct me if I say something foolish. 🙂
P.S. – If one of you would be so kind as to turn on the forwarding on my desk phone, I’d really appreciate it, thanks!
Lo, ye intrepid brothers and sisters, ponder the long version:
My primary doc diagnosed inflammation of my sacro-iliac joint, and treated me accordingly. As this wasn’t producing as much of a result as we’d liked, she ordered me a CT to rule out occult fracture (and indeed, there was none), and referred me to a Physical Medicine doc that I saw yesterday. While the CT does show abnormalities in my SI joints, they are minor and my new doc doesn’t feel that they’re contributing overmuch to the pain. He believes that I most likely have some sort of damage (sprains, etc.) in the muscles and ligaments around the joints, but that the primary source of the sciatic pain is likely due to a spinal issue. He ordered me an MRI which I was able to get last night at 7:30. I don’t yet have results on this.
Since my docs are at PAMF, I got to talk to my docs and techs about iSite, and see the product in action. It’s been cool. (One must take comfort where one can find it.)
The CT showed an incidental finding – either a mass or a cyst at the bottom of my spine on my sacrum. I have another MRI scheduled next Wed morning to get more details on this.
I’ll keep you all in the loop!
